Getting an early start at the age of 3, she has spent her life enjoying and overcoming the challenges that occur in the mountains.
While obtaining her instructors certification in 2009, she spent several seasons teaching across Canada while completing her bachelor's in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. After working in the mental health field she found she didn't have quite enough time for the snow and decided to make the move to a full time seasonal lifestyle. Since 2017 she has spent her summers as a private chef on sailing yachts throughout the Adriatic and her winters in Japan helping her clients enjoy their vacations to the fullest!
With a passion for skiing, snowboarding, food and travel, she'll have expert recommendations for your time in Niseko and beyond!

I strive to help bring your holiday to the next level both on and off snow. With a deep understanding of the different pathways to learning, I curate my lessons to fit each individual's needs and goals to help you have the day you deserve! This is also where Rory completed his university degree in Adventure Education and specialised in anxiety in beginner skiers. Since then, Rory has been chasing seasons, being an outdoor instructor for 8 years working with all ages and abilities - skiing and kayaking being his main sports.
Rory gets praised for his patience and kindness on the slopes, which helps with any first-time snow jitters.

I get satisfaction from being able to create an experience that is centered around your wants and needs. Achieving goals, having fun, and lots of shakas are to be expected. So, whether this is your first time on skis, you are looking to improve your skills and technique, or you are wanting to hit some pow, I look forward to taking you to the next level in your skiing journey.

Ania isn’t just your average instructor – she’s a psychology graduate who found her true calling out on the mountain. Her psychology background isn’t about reading minds though – it’s about reading the slopes and the skier. Whether you’re a wobbly first-timer or a powder devotee, Ania has the skills to help you level up your game and make you fall head over ski-tips in love with skiing.
After honing her skills on the legendary slopes of the Arlberg and wider Austria, she’s swapping cheesy Europop music for deep powder and is stoked to be in Niseko. In her spare time, she does everything from practising yoga to publishing psychological papers, so she’s got all bases covered for an interesting chairlift chat! Join her for a session that’s part lesson, part adventure, and 100% unforgettable.

I’m here to help you build confidence, improve your skills and transfer my passion to you! I particularly enjoy working with beginners or children - let me help you turn “I can’t” into “I just did!"

Johana started skiing when she was three years old and has spent every wintersince in the mountains across Europe. Skiing has always been a big part of her life, and she loves helping others enjoy it just as much as she does. She studied Chemistry at the University of Oxford, which made her an analyticalthinker. She loves breaking movements down into smaller parts, spotting patterns, and finding simple ways to help others improve.
Outside of skiing, Johana has worked in consulting, where she learned how to talk to clients, understand what they really need, and adapt her approach to suit them. She’s also done plenty of tutoring, which taught her how differently people learn and how to use the right techniques foreach person.
Johana loves a good chat about pretty much anything — skiing, travel, or somea random new thing she’s just discovered. She’s always up for learning something newand sharing ideas or stories on the chairlift.

"I believe the best progress happens when lessons are fun, open, and shaped byboth of us. I want my guestss to feel comfortable sharing feedback and confident topush their limits."

Tom did his first season in Niseko back in 2015, before heading to university where he graduated with a First-Class BSc in Product Design. During his studies he became a regular medal-winner across the UK freestyle skiing scene - these days he can often be found flying off off natural features he’s forever scoping out, flipping and jibbing his way through the park, weaving through others in switch or with a belly full of ramen and a smile on his face.
Tom well and truly sees the mountain as his playground and this is the kind of thinking he’s so passionate to share. With one eye on the landing and one eye on the forecast; he loves to share his excitement and passion for Japans notorious snowfall and cultural elegance with others – He’s always on the lookout for new zones to explore, new lines to hit, and hidden gems to add to his mental map.
As an instructor, Tom is passionate about helping people push beyond what they think they’re capable of. He breaks down complex and seemingly out-of-reach movements into clear, achievable progressions that make improvement feel natural and confidence-building. His teaching encourages students to experiment, push their comfort zones, and embrace the occasional fall – because if you’re not falling, you’re not learning.

I am a snowboard and ski instructor who’s passion for helping every rider find confidence and joy on the mountain has only grown over my 9 seasons of on-snow instructing. While snowboarding is my specialty, I also teach skiing as my secondary discipline. I fell in love with the snow at Perisher, where I now work as the resort’s Adaptive Snowboard Trainer, supporting guests of all abilities and helping instructors grow in this rewarding field.
My teaching style is high-energy, friendly, and a little goofy — I believe learning should feel fun, supportive, and empowering. I focus on efficient performance, clear progressions, and celebrating every win, no matter how big or small.
With a background as an outdoor educator, personal trainer and martial arts instructor. I bring strong communication skills, body-awareness coaching, and a calm, encouraging presence to every lesson. My goal is simple: help you achieve more than you thought possible and enjoy every moment on the snow
